- Broad range We offer over 90 courses, ranging from CPC and Driver CPC
through to ADR and DGSA. These courses accommodate all skill levels from new
starters through to senior management levels, and train over a selection of different
vehicle types and operations.
- Experience We have over 40 years' experience in freight transport, encompassing
a wide variety of disciplines and access to a wealth of knowledge and best practice
information.
- New legislation Part of FTA's primary function is to influence and develop new
legislation within the industry. Because of this our trainers have access to up-to-
the-minute policy information and Government-led developments. FTA has also reacted
to the introduction of Driver CPC regulations by putting together a range of mini-
courses that link to the syllabus, fulfilling the periodic training requirement.
- Encouragement We encourage candidates' development and success rates by
supplementing some courses with workshop days and networking. In particular the
CPC workshops cover what are deemed to be the hardest units and we have seen a
significant increase in pass rates for candidates who attend the workshop days.
- Flexibility We operate courses the length and breadth of the country, and will
endeavour to accommodate candidates' requests for courses where possible. We
offer both residential and non-residential courses, and ensure that candidates are fully
equipped with the best information and study materials.
- In-company The majority of our courses are available in-company and can also
be bespoked to a specific type of operation or business requirement. This enables
companies to reduce downtime and is a cost effective way of training volumes of staff.
- Trainers All FTA trainers and instructors are themselves trained to the highest
standards and registered/accredited to teach in their specific discipline. We regularly
assess our trainers to ensure they are abreast of the latest issues and are performing to
excellent standards.
- Success We consistently achieve pass rates around 10 per cent higher than the
national average for National Road Haulage CPC. Our International CPC has
constantly achieved a 90 per cent pass rate. We pride ourselves on the results our
candidates achieve and the success they demonstrate when returning to their roles
within companies. We frequently have returning candidates year on year, continually
developing their skills within the industry.
