Safer Vehicles

This modular course has been designed in partnership with National Highways, to support the logistics industry and to engage with drivers in understanding the importance of the safe use of a commercial vehicle plays on the country’s strategic road network.

Benefits of attending 

• Reduce the risk of your vehicles being involved in an incident on a high-speed road.
• Increase awareness of the consequences of unsafe vehicles and careless attitudes when driving at higher speeds, and help to ensure that all ‘high speed road’ users travel safely.
• Reduce vehicle incidents and delays on strategic road network.
• Promote understanding of the roles and responsibilities of drivers on roads managed by National Highways.

Course content 

• The impact that the unsafe use of goods vehicle can have on users of ‘high speed roads’.
• Factors that affect vehicle loads and loading.
• Tyre safety and management of tyres.
• Blind spots, including an overview of the National Highways Blind Spot VR App.

Course duration 

• Haly day (3.5 hours in duration and will be combined with another half day module.) 
• Maximum 16 delegates
