Carbon intervention modelling tool
In 2011 Heriot-Watt University developed a new software decarbonisation tool. The carbon intervention modelling tool, which is part funded by FTA, allows companies to estimate the extent to which they can reduce CO2 emissions from their freight transport operation if they applied a particular decarbonisation measure or set of decarbonisation measures.

The tool was trialled by members of both the Logistics Carbon Working Group and the Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme (LCRS) in 2011. Further development work is due to start in autumn 2012.
To run the tool, Microsoft Excel 2003 or a later version is required. You also need to enable macros to allow the software to operate.
What do you think?
We would welcome your comments on the decarbonisation tool. Please email your feedback to Dr Andrew Palmer of Heriot-Watt University.
Thank you for your help.
