Zero Emission Van Plan launched

Logistics UK has joined forces with BVRLA, REcharge UK, the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) and The EV Café to create the Zero Emission Van Plan, which launched in Parliament on Tuesday.

MPs representing all parties from across the UK came along to find out more and back this ongoing campaign putting the needs of van operators at its core.

The launch was a great success with more than 25 MPs and Peers at the event including Transport Secretary Mark Harper, Shadow Transport Minister Bill Esterson, Lib Dem Transport Spokesperson Baroness Randerson and the Transport Committee Chair Iain Stewart.

By 2030, zero-emission vans will need to account for 70% of new registrations: in 2023, that figure was under 6%. The Van Plan considers the barriers to decarbonising van fleets, looking at fiscal support, vehicle charging, energy supply at depots and regulatory barriers, and outlines where support is needed and action required.

Logistics UK is calling on all van fleet operators to support this campaign by completing and sharing a short survey here, use the simple online tool here to send a copy of the report to your MP and send in your positive electric van case studies to Denise Beedell to showcase electric vans working.
