DfT Senior Civil Servant Duncan Price to retire
Duncan started his logistics career working in local government before moving to DfT where he held various positions including in road safety, before finding his true passion as Head of Road Freight in 2012.
Duncan, who has been instrumental in shaping the Department for Transport’s policies on road freight, has announced his retirement.
Highlights of Duncan’s road freight career include chairing the ITF Road Transport Group for many years; negotiation of new or revised road transport agreements with Ukraine, Belarus, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Azerbaijan.
He also led the government's policy on road freight for 12 years through COVID, driver shortages and other problems, and oversaw the passage of several pieces of legislation to improve the road freight situation.
Originally from Kent and very proud of his heritage, Duncan is married with one daughter. He recently celebrated his daughter's wedding.

25/26 August. Put the date in your diaries, folks – long-standing Logistics UK member Brit European Group is to celebrate its centenary this summer.
Having started with its one-horse-power milk tanker in 1924 serving Cheshire farms, there have been many innovations and evolutions over the following century.
Current CEO Graham Lackey is only the fourth CEO in the company’s history, demonstrating a rare stability and continuity.
To celebrate, BEG is planning a family day later in the year for all staff, drivers, customers and suppliers.
The event will take place at the Cheshire Game and Country Fair.
