Logistics UK calls for operators of EVs to share their stories

Are you an operator who has already transitioned part or all of your van fleet to electric vehicles? Or perhaps you have paused your transition to EVs owing to operational or other reasons?

If you answered yes to either question, Logistics UK would like to speak to you as part of its research activity for its forthcoming report on electric vehicles.

In 2019, Logistics UK undertook research into the realities of operating commercial electric vehicles. That research led to a report on commercial electric vehicles which was well received by both government and industry. In the three years since that first report, decarbonisation has progressed to the top of the logistics industry’s agenda.

Denise Beedell, Senior Policy Manager, Logistics UK, said: “This new research seeks to understand how things have changed for commercial vehicle operators by listening to members’ recent experiences of managing the transition to electric vehicles.

“Whether you operate a single electric vehicle, have converted your whole fleet to electric, have tried electric vehicles and moved away or decided against them completely – we’d like to hear from you.”

Research will be conducted via calls on Microsoft Teams during December and early January, with the results published in spring 2023. A selection of participants’ experiences will be published as case studies to illustrate the findings of the report, although participants can remain anonymous if they choose. Once published, the report will be used to inform Logistics UK’s policy activities and engagement with government departments.

Members who are interested in taking part should email research@logistics.org.uk.
