Logistics UK launches its second Compliance Report

Logistics UK launched its second Compliance Report at the final Transport Manager conference for 2022 in Coventry earlier today (1 December 2022).

Based on the business group’s analysis of publicly available statistics and figures received from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Logistics UK Compliance Report 2022 sets out the latest available key statistics and analysis related to operator licensing and compliance. This report also contains the findings of Logistics UK’s annual Transport Manager Survey 2022, which gathers views of transport manager members on the top issues affecting their roles and the road haulage industry.

Sarah Watkins, Deputy Director – Policy Information, Logistics UK, said: “Safety and environmental compliance is at the heart of what we do at Logistics UK. In this, our second Compliance Report, we have analysed figures related to operator licensing, commercial fleet sizes, vehicle licensing, annual HGV test compliance and roadside roadworthiness to provide a detailed overview of the HGV compliance landscape in the UK.”

Also announced at today’s Transport Manager conference was the winner of Logistics UK’s first ever Transport Manager of the Year competition. Lee Prentice, Transport Manager at Greggs PLC, received the coveted award from Logistics UK’s Director of Policy Kate Jennings.

“We now deliver to 42 more shops than we did in March 2021, delivering daily to 487 shops in southeast England,” he said, “I lead by example and love to pass on my knowledge to members of my team. Taking on a team of 120 staff was one of the best challenges I have faced in my career so far.”
