Month in the media - July 2023

Logistics UK has maintained a significant presence in the news for its members over the past month thanks to the efforts of the press office.

By maintaining and building strong relationships with the media, and providing timely responses to issues, the team has generated significant coverage on topics such as decarbonisation, skills and import checks.

Between 28 June and 27 July, the team achieved 191 items of editorial coverage, creating the opportunity for 13 million people to see Logistics UK’s opinions.

The month ahead

Over the next month, the Logistics UK media team will be focusing on policy-related issues such as decarbonisation and the skills shortage, highlighting the need for a longer-term solution at the UK’s borders with the EU, and reacting to breaking news stories as they unfold. The team will also continue to work on promoting Logistics UK’s 2023 events programme, with particular focus on the autumn Transport Manager conference series, the Van Awards and the Logistics Awards.

Have you got a story?  If you are keen to speak to the media about a pressing issue – from skills shortages to fuel costs, urban restrictions to future logistics – or to highlight some of the great work your organisation is doing, we would love to hear from you.  We are also keen to hear from those with personal achievements to shout about – maybe moving a very unusual load, staff members who have received special awards or with unusual hobbies or expertise.  And as always, the media is keen to talk to women working across the industry – we are particularly on the lookout for female drivers who are happy to talk to the press. Please contact Freya, Lauren or Jackie in the media team at press.office@logistics.org.uk – we look forward to hearing from you!
