Logistics UK hosts roundtable with Welsh government to plan for the future

Logistics businesses met with Lee Waters, Welsh Deputy Minister for Climate Change, earlier this month to discuss the development of a clear future plan for freight and logistics. At the event, members and industry leaders discussed the key priorities for the Wales National Freight and Logistics Plan – due to be published in 2024.

Logistics UK is delighted that it was agreed the plan should recognise the importance of logistics to the Welsh economy and include practical measures to ensure a green, integrated and effective multi-modal logistics network, build on best practice for last-mile delivery and support future skills development in Wales.

Following the productive meeting, Logistics UK will continue to build on this positive engagement with the Welsh government to ensure that the key points discussed are taken forwards, and progress continues to be made on a national plan that optimises the benefits the sector can deliver.
