Transport Manager 2022 will follow a packed and highly topical agenda

Since the first event was held more than 20 years ago, Logistics UK’s series of Transport Manager conferences has grown to become a landmark event in the logistics industry’s calendar.

Its unique combination of legal insights, policy issues and high-quality compliance information have made it a perennial favourite with transport professionals eager to keep abreast of developments in a fast-changing, highly regulated environment.

This year, there will be ten conferences held between 22 September and 1 December 2022 in locations across the UK. For those who prefer not to travel, there will be the opportunity to attend a virtual, online-only conference on 11 November 2022.

SETTING THE SCENE

The one-day conference will begin with a short introduction from the conference chair followed by an essential legislative round-up and technical update on managing the safety, compliance and efficiency of your organisation.

A LOOK AHEAD

This year’s conference includes a unique opportunity to hear from your regional Traffic Commissioner on priorities for the year ahead and how to avoid non-compliance.

COMPLIANCE UPDATE

Logistics UK’s compliance team will discuss the new challenges facing industry that delegates will need to be aware of, including what the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has been finding at the roadside and the focus for the future.

VEHICLE IN-SERVICE STANDARDS

A vehicle standards session guides you through the processes required to ensure that your vehicles remain in a fit and serviceable condition for use on the highway, and helps you understand what is required from you to meet your obligations under the GB Operator Licence regime.

MANAGING SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

Brigade Electronics will explore how operators can manage vehicle safety technology to support driver training, provide data in the event of an incident, mitigate risk, reduce insurance premiums and meet compliance such as the Direct Vision Standard.

ELECTRIC AVENUE

The countdown for the phase-out of new non-zero emission vehicles has already begun, so the next new vehicles you buy or lease, may well be the last ones fuelled by diesel or petrol. For most vans and light trucks this will mean considering a vehicle with a battery. Are you ready for the transition to electric? What steps should you be taking now to meet these challenging phase-out deadlines?

Find out about the implications for your fleet operations when moving to electric vehicles, the key priorities you need to work on now, and what can wait.

ATTRACTING RECORD NUMBERS

David Wells, Chief Executive, Logistics UK, said: “Logistics UK’s series of Transport Manager conferences has been building in size and scale for more than two decades now and, owing to pent-up demand following the pandemic, 2022 looks set to attract a record number of delegates.

“This year’s programme follows a packed and highly topical agenda, which will include an opportunity to hear from your regional Traffic Commissioner on priorities for the year ahead. Other highlights include sessions on safety technology, upcoming compliance challenges and the need to transition to zero-emission vehicles – arguably the most pressing issue facing the industry.

“I urge you to book your conference place without delay, as there are few better ways to prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
