FTA joined RHA and others at the Fair Fuel UK Parliamentary Briefing and Reception on Monday; to persuade the gathered crowd of MPs of the need for action on fuel prices; with duty set to rise still further on January 1. The meeting was particularly convened to update parliamentarians on the important work of the Fair Fuel UK campaign, and the need to secure a date for a debate in the Commons on fuel prices, both in terms of levels of pricing and clarity of how prices are worked out.

Chaired by Robert Halfon MP and Quentin Willson; the briefing drew a good cross-section of interest from across Parliament. Among the MPs chatting to FTA were Marcus Jones (CON, Nuneaton), Steve Baker (CON, Wycombe), Shadow Transport Minister John Woodcock (LAB, Barrow and Furness), George Eustice (CON, Camborne and Redruth), Robert Flello (LAB, Stoke on Trent South) and Malcolm Bruce (LD, Gordon).

Around 15 MPs and Peers came to hear the important message of Fair Fuel UK, and the impassioned call from Halfon and Willson for the Commons debate campaigners have been waiting for since the Fair Fuel e-Petition passed the 100,000 signature mark in September.
