FTA's Driver Daily Walk Around Check Audits provide an independent 'stop and search' inspection at random on vehicles about to exit your premises. These checks enable you to quality monitor your procedures and the competency of the drivers carrying out their routine daily checks before the vehicles are driven. |

What does a typical audit include?
- FTA engineers visit your premises for a specific time period, usually for two hours. In this timeframe they will stop vehicles at random due to leave the premises to begin their journeys
- Engineers will carry out their own walk around check, covering all the points documented in VOSA's Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness. The subsequent findings will then be cross referenced with the driver's own records
- A report is produced on the day showing both defects found and vehicles stopped which are free of driver reportable defects. This highlights the condition of vehicles which were due to leave the premises and how this related to the records given by the driver's defect book
- Management information can also be provided with recommendations given for subsequent driver training
