Online Operator Licence Compliance

Online – Operator Licence Compliance courses are designed to update transport professionals involved in transport operations and assist them to develop an active role in ensuring legal compliance within their operation. These modules reveal the fundamental responsibilities that apply to operators and explain the importance of best practice and compliance requirements to ensure a safe and legal transport operation.

1 Operator Licensing

The aim of this module is to:

  • provide an overview of the operator licensing system, and to make clear the continuous responsibilities of goods vehicle operators

  • enable your organisation to demonstrate compliance to enforcement authorities

2 EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time

The aims of this module are to:

  • raise awareness of the legislation surrounding EU drivers’ hours
  • raise awareness of the legislation surrounding EU drivers’ hours and working time requirements

3 Recording EU Drivers' Hours

The aims of this module are to:

  • raise your awareness of the legislative requirements for the recording of EU driver’s hours
  • clarify the continuous responsibilities of operators, supervisors and drivers for evidencing compliance with the rules

After completing this module you will be able to:

  • appreciate your organisation’s legal obligations and commitments by meeting the requirements to record and monitor driver activity and demonstrate compliance to enforcement authorities

4 Vehicle Maintenance Systems

The aims of this module are to:

  • explain the responsibilities and systems involved in maintaining vehicles in a roadworthy condition, regardless of operating conditions, fleet size or vehicle type
  • provide a clear indication of the key components of an efficient vehicle maintenance system, together with an understanding of the responsibilities of both operator and driver

After completing this module you will be able to:

  • ensure that you comply with the law and that your compliance can be monitored and controlled

5 Driver Licensing

The aims of this module are to:

  • explain the legislation and format of driving licences
  • assist with the understanding of the category entitlements required to drive small, medium and large goods vehicles
  • provide a clear understanding of how to carry out licence checks and establish company procedures

After completing this module you will be better able to:

  • carry out licence checks thoroughly and competently monitor, record and plan licence checks to safeguard your organisation and drivers
