In spring 2008, FTA ran a series of 14 free briefings for members at different venues around the UK. The briefings focused on helping members to prepare for the introduction of Driver CPC for all new drivers acquiring either a pcv licence (from September 2008) or lgv licence (from September 2009). Advice was provided on training new drivers in accordance with Driver CPC rules as well as the requirements for existing licence holders. The session included a full rundown of Driver CPC, actions for operators, training options and how FTA can help. In January 2008, FTA ran a series of 13 free briefings for members at different venues around the UK. The briefings focused on preparing for transport legislative changes in 2008 which included Corporate Manslaughter, London Low Emission Zone, Graduated Fixed Penalties and the Driver Training Directive. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) also attended each free briefing to present members on its 'falls from vehicles' campaign. Please see the attached presentation slides and briefing notes.
