Belfast A20 Albertbridge Road - Rapid Transit Scheme

As part of the Belfast Rapid Transit Scheme there will be temporary lane closures on the Albertbridge Road, from the junction with Castlereagh Street to the Newtownards Road. Road users should expect delays during the works - Works are planned in the area until Spring 2017

 

Belfast - B102 Stewartstown Road - Rapid Transit Scheme

As part of the Belfast Rapid Transit Scheme there will be temporary lane closures on Stewartstown Road from the junction with Finaghy Road North, for approximately 2km, to Michael Ferguson Roundabout.  Road users should expect delays during the works.

Works are planned in the area.

 

Co Armagh A3 Monaghan Rd Temp Speed & Overtaking Restriction

Co Armagh - the A3 Monaghan Road will be subject to a temporary 40 miles per hour speed limit and prohibition of overtaking on the carriageway and hard shoulders for a period of 6 weeks commencing on Monday 06 March 2017 because of roadworks near the A3 Monaghan Road, Milford, Armagh.

Traffic signs warning that the use of the road is subject to the above speed limit restriction and to indicate the nature and extent of the restriction will be erected on the road.

The restriction will be in place from a point South West of its junction with U7009 Umgola Heights to a point South West of its junction with C198 Hill Street, Milford.

A2 Belfast Rd Carrickfergus Lane Closure 13 Feb - 31 Mar 17

Co Antrim - Carrickfergus - a lane closure commenced on the A2 Belfast Road citybound between Trooperslane Road and Seapark Roundabout continuously 24 hours per day from 13 February 2017 until 31 March 2017 to facilitate construction of a new cycleway. Road users in this area can expect delays particularly during the morning peak period. 

 

Fortwilliam Roundabout Resurfacing Commences Fri 31 March 17

Belfast - the Department of Infrastructure plans to resurface the Fortwilliam Roundabout over a three week period commencing Friday 31st March. The works are weather dependant and could be subject to change. 

While the Department for Infrastructure has planned these works and the associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public, motorists should expect delays and allow additional time when planning a journey. The works require lane and full road closures so signed diversions will be in operation.

Works will be carried out in 3 phases as detailed below:-

  • Phase 1 Friday 31st March to Monday 3rd April 2017 Fortwilliam Roundabout  Closed from 2030hrs to 0600hrs

(M2 Southbound Off slip will remain open for access to Dargan Road, Harbour Estate and Duncrue Industrial estate only. Shore Road traffic will be advised to use Duncrue Street exit.)

  • Phase 2 Friday 7th April to Monday10th April 2017 Fortwilliam Roundabout Closed from 2030hrs to 0600hrs
  • Phase 3 Wednesday 12th April to Saturday 15th Fortwilliam Roundabout  Closed over 4 nights from 1900hrs to 0600hrs

A57 Ballyrobin Rd T'patrick Closed Fri 31 Mar - Mon 3 Apr 17

The A57 Ballyrobin Road, Templepatrick (the main road up to Belfast International Airport) between Antrim Road and the A26 Oldstone Road will be closed continuously for 3 days from 7pm on Friday 31st March to 6am Monday 3rd April 2017 for carriageway resurfacing works. (postponed from February 2017).

Traffic will be diverted along the following routes :-

  • Normal traffic: Antrim Road > Belfast Road > A26 Oldstone Road > Ballyrobin Road (and vice versa)
  • HGV Traffic: Antrim Road > Belfast Road > A6 Belmount Road > Dublin Road > A57 Airport Road (and vice versa)

Motorists are asked to allow extra time for their journey particularly if heading to Belfast International Airport.
