FTA's Transaid Cycle Challenge 2011

Thanks for your help in raising over £50,000
for Transaid transport projects in Africa

FTA is supporting the charity Transaid, in order to raise awareness of logistics for developing countries and to run a number of programmes across Africa. Transport in Africa is unreliable, poor quality and very unsafe with road traffic accidents the third leading cause of death on the continent *.

The Cycle Challenge

In June 2011 FTA undertook a Cycle Challenge which raised a total of £51,575 for Transaid. This money will go a long way in providing continued support for the Transaid Professional Driver Training Project which is making Africa’s roads and communities safer. This project is currently active in Zambia and Tanzania and with your support it could expand further. Learn more about Transaid.

Tour diary

The Challenge ran for 13 days between 7 - 22 June and involved riding around the UK through each FTA Freight Council Region, covering a total of 750 miles.
