How to take part in the Transaid Cycle Challenge

Firstly, decide which of the 14 cycle routes you would like to complete. Each route is headed up by a Regional Freight Council Chairman.

Your next step is to complete a registration form and you will be asked to raise a minimum of £200 towards your regional team's target. Please ensure you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions.

Please contact FTA's Nikki Skegg with any questions you may have.

How do I prepare for the ride?

Equipment

The ride will take place on roads so the most suitable type of bike would be either a traditional road bike or a hybrid bike. If you don’t have the right type of bike for the ride, you may be able to hire one.

You will also need to wear a well-fitted helmet for safety reasons.

Preparation

If you don’t already cycle regularly you will need to start in the weeks leading up to the ride, FTA will be emailing training guides to registered participants on a regular basis to help you prepare for the challenge.

Bikeability is Cycling Proficiency for the 21st Century, designed to give participants the skills and confidence they need to ride on today’s roads. We recommended that all riders get involved if possible. Find out more
