FTA showcases Van Excellence Small Fleet Programme at CV Show

Wednesday 27 April 2016

Following the success of its Van Excellence scheme, the Freight Transport Association (FTA) has introduced a best practice programme specially for operators of small fleets.

The Van Excellence Small Fleet Programme, which is being showcased at the CV Show at Birmingham NEC, is for operators who have 10 vans or fewer and will share advice and first-rate operational procedures from the top performing fleets.

Mark Cartwright, FTA’s Head of Vans, said: “Small fleet operators wanted an affordable scheme like Van Excellence to help them maintain high standards and stay up-to-date with current laws and best practice.
“Being a member offers unrivalled support and information to run a safe, legal and efficient fleet.”
Membership of the programme includes access to online fleet management software, electronic versions of FTA’s ‘Guide to Van Excellence’, monthly email updates and support from FTA’s Member Advice Centre – one of the most valued benefits.

Derek Goulding, Director of Fleet Operations at Ajax Couriers said: “We run a small fleet of vans and aspire to operate at the highest standards – this is why the Van Excellence Small Fleet Programme is ideal for us.”
Operators can choose to undergo an audit and be assessed against industry standards to become a Van Excellence Accredited Operator.
