Need for more clarity as FTA compliance event sold out Tue May 12 14:09:00 BST 2009

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) leads the way in providing compliance guidance on the latest enforcement and roadworthiness issues. Its sell-out Local Authority Conference in May shows the importance of compliance issues affecting local authorities and their contractors and proves there is a strong need for practical guidance in the face of major legislative changes this year.

Simon Chapman, FTA’s General Manager - Information, said:

“There is a real need within councils up and down the UK for clarity regarding the glut of new legislation coming their way.

“The success of our sell-out conference indicates how important it is for staff within local authorities and their contractors to ensure they are up to speed with their legal requirements, including graduated fixed penalties which came into force last month.”
