Guide to Meyrick BAF Calculations for Transatlantic and Europe/Far East trades
This short Guide is an accompanying document to the Meyrick report “Review of BAFs on the Transatlantic and Europe/Far East trades” undertaken for the European Shippers Council (ESC), Brussels.
The Meyrick report made use of a Meyrick developed ‘Containership Fuel Cost and BAF Calculation Model’ which calculates the effects of different vessel sizes, vessel deployments (ship numbers in services), variations in bunker fuel prices, and vessel utilisations. The Guide presents two worked examples of the BAF calculation methodology – one for the Transatlantic trade, the other for the North Europe / Far East trade.
