Fuel campaign

What is FTA doing? What can you do? How FTA can help

In his Pre Budget Statement on 24 November 2008, the Chancellor, Alistair Darling announced an increase in fuel duty of 2 pence per litre (ppl), effective from 1 December 2008. In addition, he announced that duty will rise again in April by 1.84ppl. This will land the UK logistics industry with a massive £533 million tax increase.

Like you, FTA is outraged by this announcement, which will put an even greater strain on a sector already bearing the brunt of the economic downturn.

With you, we are working to overturn this decision and to strike a better deal for our industry, which is the lifeblood of the UK economy.
