WEATHER
Wednesday A fine, dry day across much of the Network, though rather cloudy at times. It should turn quite warm, especially central and eastern areas. Cumbria and the Southwest always expected to be cloudier with some patchy light rain or drizzle at times, and there could be some fog about, particularly over the higher routes. Quite a brisk southwesterly wind in the north but should not pose any cross-wind problems today.
Wednesday Night Similar tonight, best break in the cloud likely to be in central and eastern areas. Staying largely cloudy in the west with patchy light rain at times and fog over highest routes. The south to southwesterly wind will be freshening all the time, particularly noticeable in the north for Cumbria and the Pennine routes where gusts could reach 40 mph by morning.
Thursday Central and eastern areas likely to stay dry until later in the day, so although cloud and wind will be increasing it could turn quite warm. Western areas are expected to remain cloudy with rain at times, some quite heavy through the day. Clearing eastwards during the evening. The rain much less significant further east where it will finally clear over tomorrow night. The wind quite strong at times in the southwest gusting to 40 mph or so. Stronger across the north where it may gust to 50 mph, and will be a cross wind for the A66 and A69 before veering to the west during the evening, Then a crosswind on M6 and A1.
WEATHER SCOTLAND Cloudy at first but the last of the overnight rain soon clearing. Then dry, bright and mild with some good sunny spells developing. Moderate southwesterly winds. The M1 Motorway will be closed Westbound between Broadway J1 and Stockmans Lane J2 from 11pm on Thursday 18th March to 6am the following morning. A signed diversion will be in operation.

(Last modified: 17 August 2009)Information on cross-Channel sailings from Dover's Eastern Docks with P&O Ferries and SeaFrance to Calais, Norfolkline sailings to Dunkerque and LD Lines to Boulogne and Dieppe is available to International members of FTA. Fuel prices

The Rotterdam diesel commodity price has risen over the last week by 1.94% from $671.00 per tonne on 05.03.10 to $684.00 on 12.03.2010.
The latest bulk contract diesel price for week ending 12.03.10 was 94.89 ppl with spot prices at 95.38 ppl. The previous week bulk contract was 93.43 ppl and spot prices were 94.74 ppl for week ending 05.03.10.
Bulk contract diesel prices are usually on a 2 week time lag from Rotterdam prices so any change in the commodity price will not be felt for another fortnight.
