southeastern parts overnight too. Central England will see further outbreaks of light rain, whilst the northwest should be dry. Some mist and hill fog patches may develop across northeastern

Southern England will be cloudy with showery rain, heavy at times, perhaps with some thunderstorms too. Outbreaks of mainly light rain are forecast over central parts, perhaps with some heavy,
showery bursts in the south Midlands during the afternoon. Northern areas should be dry with some sunny spells, and maybe some hill fog patches over the Pennines, especially initially. Moderate
northeasterly winds generally.

There is a moderate risk of a severe event affecting parts of southern England. There is a potential for outbreaks of heavy rain during Friday and the first half of Saturday, with a risk of
thunder, to give rainfall accumulations of 25 mm locally and perhaps up to 50 mm in isolated spots.

On the M5 northbound between J3 and the M6, there are currently delays of 30 mins due to heavy traffic . Normal traffic conditions expected from 5:30 pm.

M8 Glasgow City eastbound at A82, Glasgow City [M8 junction 17] - Earlier accident eastbound at J17, Great Western Road, very slow traffic.
A280 [Long Furlong] Clapham both ways between A24, Findon By-Pass, Clapham and A27, Arundel Road, West Sussex - Long Furlong closed both ways between the Warren Roundabout junction and the A27 Arundel Road junction in Clapham, because of an accident.
A367 [Bath Road] Nettlebridge both ways between Street and B3356, Somerset - Road blocked on Bath Road both ways between the Street junction and the B3356 junction in Nettlebridge, because of an accident.

Sailings from Dover's Eastern Docks with P&O Ferries and SeaFrance to Calais are running to time, with space available. Norfolkline sailings to Dunkerque are also on schedule, with space.
Members are reminded that long term roadworks are being carried out on the A20 in Dover. Delays at peak times and night time diversions for traffic are likely to be
met. Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys to the port.

The Rotterdam diesel commodity price has remained relatively stable over the last week rising 1% from $810 per tonne on 18.1.08 to $815 per tonne on 25.01.08
The latest bulk contract diesel price (for week ending 25.1.08) was 87.2ppl with spot prices at 86.4ppl. The previous week bulk contract was 88.15ppl and spot prices were 87.78ppl.
Bulk contract diesel prices are usually on a 2 week time lag from Rotterdam prices so any change in the commoditiy price will not be felt for another fortnight
