UK road network conditions

(Last modified: 5 January 2009)
WEATHER
Monday
A wintry mix of rain or snow across Southern England will move away southwestwards during the morning. Snow showers will follow on behind, mainly to the NE, E and SE. Showers may be heavy enough to give a covering (anything upto 5 cm) and significantly reduce visibility. The worst of the snow will be across Lincs, E Anglia, and Kent. Further west a good deal of dry and fine weather can be expected.

Monday Night
Any residual snow showers in eastern areas will soon die away this evening to leave all areas with a dry night with a severe frost.

Tuesday
Very cold, dry and sunny. Isolated freezing fog patches may linger across Northwest England during the day. Towards late evening light rain or snow may move south into the far north of England.

WEATHER SCOTLAND
Icy conditions. Patchy drizzly rain, with some snow flurries over hillier parts, more persistent in the east, will gradually die out tonight leaving a dry clear and cold night with widespread frost forming and some ice. Coldest well inland away from the coast Light or moderate Northeast winds settling Easterly.

Fuel prices

(Last modified: 1 January 2008)
The Rotterdam diesel commodity price has remained relatively stable over the last week rising 1% from $810 per tonne on 18.1.08 to $815 per tonne on 25.01.08.

The latest bulk contract diesel price (for week ending 25.1.08) was 87.2ppl with spot prices at 86.4ppl. The previous week bulk contract was 88.15ppl and spot prices were 87.78ppl.

Bulk contract diesel prices are usually on a 2 week time lag from Rotterdam prices so any change in the commoditiy price will not be felt for another fortnight.
