Working at FTA
A highly valued voice for our members
The moment you join FTA, you'll notice a culture that's distinctly different. We're intensely proud of our status as the leading trade organisation for the UK transport industry.
Not only does it make us a highly valued and respected voice for our members, who are at the heart of everything we do, but it also means that our opinion is regularly courted by everyone from local authorities to British MPs and the EU.
You can see examples of our Media Coverage on our You Tube Channel.
But our professional commitment is as great as our responsibility. It's our people who underpin our successes, perpetuate our unique culture and ensure that we continue to be the leading voice for freight transport.
They're totally dedicated to what they do, and they work together to achieve it. Perhaps that's why there's such a strong team spirit throughout the organisation.
Open door policy
Similarly, we realised a long time ago that strict hierarchies weren't the way to succeed. Working here, you'll find an approachable senior management team that actively takes an interest in what you have to say, and gives your ideas the consideration and credence they deserve.
It's an open-door policy that goes all the way to the top - every employee has direct access to the Chief Executive.
Rise through the ranks
What's more, impress us and you'll have the chance to rise through the ranks yourself. We like to focus on individual success as much as teamwork, with career development another strong element of our culture.
So if we see you as a potential leader in the future, we'll give you every opportunity to show us what you're capable of.
Internal communications ensures clear, consistent messages are shared with all staff to easily inform, include and engage. Departmental communications champions contribute to Inside FTA (a weekly emailed newsletter and monthly video) and Yammer (a business social media platform which is only accessed by FTA staff).
