FTA Talks To A Parrott

On Monday FTA met with the Lib Dem AM now in charge of her party’s transport portfolio in Wales, Eluned Parrott AM. Relatively new to the Senedd, and newer still to her wide-ranging portfolio (which includes business and environmental issues), Mrs Parrott is currently consulting as widely as she can the views on industry in these key areas; and with a voice in all three camps there was plenty for FTA to put on her radar.

It was a lengthy and wide-ranging discussion, and it seem clear that there will be plenty for FTA to work on with the party over the coming months as they look to hold the new Labour administration to account. The conversation began with a discussion of safety issues, including partnership working with other road users and flexiparking; before moving on to potential for rail freight in Wales, the Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme and the troubling spectre of a skills deficit in logistics on the Welsh horizon.

FTA looks forward to working with her over the coming months as the new Lib Dem team’s thinking on these key matters develops.
