Day 6: Dublin to Dundalk, 56 miles

Posted on: Tuesday, 14 June 2011 by Toby Carroll in category Cycle ride

Start of day 6Just four ardent cyclists braved the elements in Dublin, and wet and weary completed the ride to Dundalk in double quick time despite a long delay to repair a stubborn puncture by Declan. Three tubes later we finally got back underway and with a rear wind made good time.

Declan’s wife Olivia met us halfway at Drogheda with sandwiches and warm drinks which were gratefully consumed. Young Connor entertained the troops - and consumed a Mars bar to prove he is a man. Then he and Olivia left us to the wet road to Dundalk.

Soaked and cold with a fierce easterly wind we arrived at Dundalk. Stewart decided to invest in dry warm clothes at JJB Sports - not the height of fashion but who cares.
