How your application will be handled

Your application is extremely important to us and we aim to keep you informed of how your application is progressing at every stage of the process.

First steps

All vacancies at FTA are advertised on this website. All you need to do is to decide which job you're interested in and either attach an electronic cv or complete the online application form, depending upon which method of application is required. You'll know we've received it successfully, because you'll get an email to acknowledge your application.

Once the closing date has passed your application will be screened against the person specification. If your application looks as though it matches our criteria, you'll be invited to attend an interview. A letter will be sent confirming the details of this interview and asking you to notify us of any special needs or requirements. We must make sure that you are eligible to work in the UK, so you will also need to bring the appropriate original documentation with you to interview. If your application isn't shortlisted, you'll be notified in writing and you'll be invited to ring for feedback.

The selection procedure

In addition to the interview itself, you may be asked to conduct a short presentation, undertake a profile assessment or perform an in-tray exercise. If you are required to do this, you'll normally be notified in advance. It is also possible that you'll be required to attend more than one interview.

Final steps

If following the conclusion of the selection process your application is successful, you'll be verbally offered the position and sent an offer letter and contract. You won't be made to draw your own conclusions if you're not successful at interview because we'll write to you as soon as the selection process has finished.
