New lgvs are getting cleaner. Eighteen Euro 4 (2006) lgvs produce the same
quantity of particulate matter as one Euro 1 standard truck made in 1993.

As businesses look to increase fuel efficiency, safety and reliability, as well as reducing their emissions of air pollutants, the average age of lorries registered in the UK has fallen markedly over the last 10 years. This is especially true for the heavier articulated models.
